Day 3: Breaking Free from the World & Rejecting its Value System
Reading: 1 John 2:15-17
Devotional: The world operates on a value system that leaves God out: the lust of the flesh (if it feels good, do it), the lust of the eyes (I must have what I see & I want it now), and the pride of life (look at me). These aren't just activities; they're attitudes that shape how we view everything. These patterns shape our decisions more than we realize. Where are you more influenced by culture than Scripture? Does Netflix, Social Media, Talk Shows, or Your Friends shape your views on relationships more than the New Testament? Do rap or song lyrics, commercials, movies, television define your relationship with money more than biblical stewardship? Does Instagram determine your worth more than God's Word? Does your worth come from likes and followers, how others view or what they say about you or from what God says about you? Worldliness isn't just about activities, it's a heart posture. Choose today to align your values with heaven's standards, not culture's changing opinions. Today, examine your heart, identify one area where culture has louder voice than Christ. The world and its lusts are passing away, but those who do God's will abide forever. Choose the eternal over the temporary.
