The Fire That Never Goes Out-Day#1 Hosting Heavens Holy Fire

Day 1: The Fire That Never Goes Out

Reading: Leviticus 6:12-13; 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Devotional:
In the Old Testament, priests had one sacred responsibility: keep the fire burning. Every morning, they added wood, removed ashes, and tended the flame. God sent the first fire, but maintaining it was their partnership with Him. Today, you are the altar. God baptizes you with His fire, but He invites you to tend it daily. The Holy Spirit ignites your heart, but you're called to tend that flame through intentional choices. The fire doesn't stay lit through wishful thinking—it requires intentional fuel: worship, prayer, obedience, and time in His Word. When you neglect these spiritual disciplines, the flame diminishes. The command "do not quench the Spirit" reveals a sobering truth: it's possible to extinguish what God has started. Your spiritual fire requires daily attention—not through striving, but through surrender. God doesn't want a one-time encounter; He desires a lifetime of burning passion for His presence.
Ask yourself today:
Am I adding fuel to my fire, or am I letting it die through neglect?
God's will is not a one-time experience but a continually burning life.
What will you add to your altar today?
What daily habits keep your spiritual fire burning? What might be quenching the Spirit in your life?
