Renewed Strength In The Secret Place
Reading: Isaiah 40:27-31
Devotional:
The prophet Isaiah offers a progression that mirrors the Christian walk: mounting up, running, and walking. We often desire the eagle moment. The dramatic breakthrough, the visible miracle, the soaring testimony. However, Isaiah ends with the quieter miracle of walking and not fainting. Some days, the greatest victory is simply that you showed up in the secret place when you had nothing to say. The secret place does not always make the next step easy, but it makes the next step possible. Yesterday's obedience was good, but today still needs a yes. Daily bread requires daily return. The secret place is where God refills what the battle drained. Isaiah 40:31 presents a progression that is easy to overlook: mounting up, running, and walking. We often desire the soaring moment, the dramatic breakthrough, the visible miracle. But sometimes the deepest evidence of God's faithfulness is that you are still walking and have not fainted. The secret place does not always make the next step easy, but it makes the next step possible. Waiting on the Lord is not passive inactivity. It is active dependence, keeping your hope fixed on Him, staying connected to His presence. The secret place is where God refills what the battle has drained. Yesterday's obedience was good, but today still needs a yes.

Application:
Set aside ten to fifteen minutes today with no phone and no agenda other than to be present before God. Do not fill the silence with requests alone. Sit, listen, and allow God to speak. Write down anything He impresses upon your heart. Return to this practice each day this week.
