FEATURED message
This powerful message challenges us to examine a profound spiritual mystery: Jesus has already opened our prison doors, yet many of us remain inside by choice. Drawing from Galatians 5:1, we're reminded that Christ has made us free—past tense, already accomplished—yet we must actively stand in that liberty. The sermon explores the critical difference between freedom won and freedom walked in, using the striking example of slaves in Texas who remained enslaved for a full year after the Emancipation Proclamation simply because they hadn't received the news. How many of us are living like spiritual slaves who haven't gotten the memo that we're free? The message dives deep into Romans 6 and 8, revealing that we don't have a sin problem—we have a lordship and choice problem. Before Christ, we had to obey sin; in Christ, we choose to obey sin. This isn't about condemnation but about recognizing our true identity. We're challenged to ask ourselves in every situation: Who is the king here—Jesus or my flesh? The transformation from chains to choices requires us to stop being debtors to our flesh and start living as children of God who can cry out 'Abba, Father.' This isn't about earning God's love through better performance; it's about recognizing we're already loved and choosing to live from that place of acceptance rather than striving for it.
