He Knows Me-Week#2-Day#5

He Knows Me

2Ti 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Ti 2:20  But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. —2 Timothy 2:19-20

  1. God knows those who are His.
  2. Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from
    iniquity
God knows who we are when we are His. He is not some far off distant being. He is right there with us and he knows and everything about us. His Word says that he has numbered the hairs on our heads. He wants the best for us. He wants us to succeed and exceed even our own expectations. Our God knows us and calls us by name.

There are two cornerstones for everyone’s life. There is a seal on everyone’s life. The first part of the seal is that God knows who are His. This simply means we have been born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, and we have become children of God. The Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. We know that we know that we are God’s children, and no one can steal that from us.
The second truth is equally important. This truth signifies that “everyone who names the name of Christ must depart from iniquity.” What is iniquity? Iniquity is present inward sin. It is wickedness rooted in the heart that displays itself through acts of sin and rebellion. The admonition by the Lord is that we need to throw iniquity out of our lives. We need to depart from it. We must understand this is our responsibility. We are to turn away from the door of temptation. We need to turn away from things that are evil. “We must put off the former conduct of the old man and put on the new man, which is created according to God in true righteousness and holiness.” God wants us to live holy lives for His glory.—Pastor Mirek Hufton - Forever Free- Pg.. 31-32

The fact that our God knows us and everything about us and calls us by name, we should not take the ability to call the name of Christ. To call ourselves Christians is more than just a label that describes who we believe in. It is an honor and privilege to call the name of Christ and to call Him our Lord. 2 Timothy 2:19 says that if we name the name of Christ we must depart from iniquity. We must leave these iniquities in the past and run towards the future of our lives in Christ. Iniquity is repeated, continual, perpetual sin, that must stop if we want to be free. The statement in 2 Timothy 2:19 is not a request it is a command! When we name the name of Christ and continue living in our iniquities, we literally disrespect the name of Christ and prevent us from fully obtaining His presence and all the things that come with His presence from fully manifesting in our lives. Make an informed and sincere decision to walk away from the iniquities in our lives. Make this decision today!

List any iniquities you know you must leave:

Prayer:
Lord Jesus forgive me for my iniquities. Lord Jesus i present my iniquities to you. (Call out these iniquities) I place them at your feet. Jesus wash me in your blood and cleanse me today! Lord Jesus I surrender my entire self with my ambitions and desires fully to you. Jesus thank you for your unconditional love and for taking these iniquities from me so I can be free and follow after you! Jesus help me not to return to these iniquities. Help grow and develop an increased desire for and reliance in you each and every day! In Jesus Name I pray!!
